You can create a reservation in several ways:
- Main menu: Select Reservation, then New Reservation
- Dashboard: Select New reservation from the shortcuts menu
- Item page: Select the Perform task dropdown button, then New reservation
- Reservation listing page: Click the New Reservation button
If selected from the item page, the item is automatically applied.
- Select the date range by first selecting the start date, then the end date. If the reservation is within a single day, click twice on the same date. Then, select the start time and end time. The duration of the reservation will appear in the middle.
- If it's a repeating reservation, select daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly under repetition. The duration can't be longer than the recurring interval. Then, select the pattern for the repetition.
Recurring reservations can't be infinite, so you should either select an ending date or the number of times the reservation should recur. When setting the wanted recurring options, you can check to see the recurring dates by clicking the Show repeating appointment dates button before saving the reservation. - Add one or more items (required) for the reservation.
- Add a short, describing name (required) for the reservation. You can also add another user to be responsible for the reservation if it's not you (or the one creating the reservation) by selecting the user under On behalf of. If there is a certain location the items in the reservation will be used, select the location under Reserve to location.
- Finally, add some additional information about the reservation (optional), then click Create reservation.
If there are items in the reservation that are already reserved for the selected date and time range, you will not be able to create the reservation. Check the list of selected items to see which of the items are already booked. You can solve this by either trying to change the date range or removing the already booked items (and possibly replacing them with other similar items). When selecting items after selecting the date range, you will not be able to select already booked items (they will be visible, but marked as booked).
