Change timezone
Itefy has two timezone settings, and they do different jobs:
| Setting | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Your timezone | Profile → Preferences | How every date and time is shown to you, and how the times you type in are read. Personal: it follows you across all your accounts. |
| Account timezone | Settings → General | The starting timezone for people you invite from now on. It does not change what anyone already in the account sees. |
Itefy stores every time in one universal clock and converts it to each person's own timezone. So when two colleagues are in the same place, they should have the same timezone set on their profiles. That is what makes a reservation for 10:00 read 10:00 for both of them.
Change your own timezone
Open the menu under your avatar in the top-right corner, choose Profile, and go to Preferences. Pick a continent and a city in your timezone. The Current time preview lets you check it is the right one. Click Save preferences.
The change takes effect straight away, everywhere you are signed in, including the Itefy Go app on your phone. You do not need to sign out. See Personal profile and preferences for the other personal settings.
Change the account timezone
Select Settings in the main menu, then General. Choose your continent and city, check the current time shown, and click Save general settings.
People you invite after this start with that timezone. Everyone already in the account keeps their own, and can change it on their profile.
Colleagues see different times for the same reservation
That means their profile timezones differ. Changing the account timezone under Settings → General will not fix it.
- Ask each person to open Profile → Preferences and check the timezone.
- Set them to the same city and save. The times line up immediately.
- Look over reservations and checkouts that were entered while a timezone was wrong. A time is saved in the timezone of the person who typed it in, so those entries are still an hour or more out. Open each one and correct the time.
