Add an event
An event is the record that something happened to equipment: it was serviced, inspected, cleaned, transported, dropped. From Home → Add event, or an item's More → Add an event.
The form
- Items
- Name — what happened
- From and To
- Kind — maintenance, inspection, transport, repair or other
- Photos — before and after, which is where the value usually is
- On behalf of, Location, Note — optional
Photos attach when the event is saved. If one fails to upload the event is still recorded, and the app says so rather than losing the picture quietly.
From a booking
A booking whose kind is maintenance, inspection or repair converts to an event: open it under Activity → Bookings. The event inherits the booking's kind, so a scheduled inspection is reported as an inspection without anyone choosing twice.
Issue or event?
An issue is a problem to be resolved — it has a status and it gets closed. An event is a thing that happened, logged once. Servicing a machine because it broke is usually both: the issue tracks the problem, the event records the work.
Costs
Event expenses — what the repair cost — are entered in the web app, where they feed the cost reports.
