Pictures and files on events

An event is the record of work that was done, and a photo is often the clearest part of that record: what the belt looked like before the service and after, the inspection sheet somebody signed, the receipt for the part that went in.

Every event has a Pictures & files section on its page, below Performed by.

While creating the event

The New event form has a Pictures & files field among the optional details, so a before-and-after pair can go on as the event is written.

The files upload once the event exists. If one fails, the event is still created — you are told which files did not make it, and they can be added from the event page afterwards.

Add files

Click Add files and pick one or more, or drop files anywhere onto the section. You need permission to edit the event — the same permission that governs everything else on the page.

Pictures and other files are separated automatically: images become thumbnails in a gallery, everything else is listed by name and size. Click a thumbnail to open it full size.

From a phone

The same pictures are reachable in Itefy Go. Open the event and use the + tile under Photos — on a phone that offers the camera directly, so a photo taken while the work is being done goes straight onto the record without a detour through a computer.

Photos taken on a phone in portrait are stored the right way up: the orientation tag the camera writes is honoured on upload.

Delete a file

Open the picture and choose Delete, or use the delete control beside a listed file. A deleted file is gone for good — event files are not shared with anything else, so nothing else loses a picture when you remove one here.

Storage

Files on events count towards the same storage allowance as pictures on items, issues and locations. If an upload is refused for lack of space, the event itself is still saved — only the file is missing, and you can add it once space is freed or the plan is changed.
