Check equipment out
From Home → Check out, which opens the camera; or from an item's screen, where Check out is the primary button.
The form
- Items — what you scanned, plus Add items for more
- Name — what it is for. Prefilled with the item's name; a real reason ("Site survey, Tuesday") is worth the two seconds
- Check in due — when it should be back. This is what makes something show as overdue later
- On behalf of — the colleague actually taking it, if it is not you
- Location — where it is going
- Note
Kits
Checking out a kit takes everything inside it, at every level. You will see the full list before you confirm.
If a member of the kit is not available — somebody else has it — it is left behind and the app tells you which. The rest still goes out, because one missing lens should not stop a flight case leaving the building.
What cannot be checked out
- Something already checked out to somebody else
- Something whose condition is inoperative or discarded
- Inventory — that is stock, and gets adjusted rather than lent
Booked-but-not-yet-collected equipment can be checked out — very often the checkout is that booking being collected. The app says which items are reserved and offers to record the checkout against the booking, which completes it.
From a booking
Open the booking under Activity → Bookings and convert it. The form arrives prefilled and still editable, and the booking is marked complete when you save.
