Hierarchy & classifications
Locations can be nested up to 5 levels deep, so you can mirror how your equipment is actually organized — for example Oslo office → Building A → Room 204 → Shelf 3. Hierarchy is optional: if a flat list works for you, nothing changes.
Classifications
Every location has a classification that tells Itefy what kind of place it is:

The classification is shown as a colored label on location lists and pickers, can be changed at any time from the location's page (click the label next to the name), and can be used to filter the locations page, location statistics and reports.
Geolocation
Fixed locations (sites, buildings, rooms, storage) can carry a geolocation. Click Edit on the Geolocation card to open a map: search for an address (with suggestions as you type), click the map to drop a pin, drag the pin to fine-tune, or use My location to let the browser fill in where you are. The location's page then shows a map preview and a link to open the position in Google Maps.
Sublocations and item counts
A location's page shows its sublocations, and its item count and value both directly and including sublocations. When you filter items, checkouts or reservations by a location, matches in its sublocations are included automatically — filtering by Building A finds items on Shelf 3 inside it. On a location's own page you can switch the item list between This location and Incl. sublocations.
Mobile locations
Vehicle and Container locations are mobile — the location itself moves around. Place a mobile location at another location with Place at… on its page. Items in the container stay in the container; placing it somewhere else effectively moves everything in it.
Every placement is recorded in the Movement history on the location's page, so you can see where a container or vehicle has been, when, and who moved it.
