Check equipment in

From Home → Check in, which opens the camera; from the item screen, where the primary button becomes Check in by itself once something is out; or from the checkout under Activity.

Checking a kit back in.

Tick what actually came back

Everything still out is ticked to begin with. Untick anything that has not come back and check it in later — a partly returned checkout stays open until the last item is in.

Kits are shown as a tree. Ticking a kit ticks its contents.

Scan to verify is the honest way to do this: scan each thing as it comes off the van and the app ticks it off for you.

Put them back

Under Put them back, decide where the equipment goes:

  • Usual places — each item returns to its own home location. When everything shares one, the button names it: Back to Main Warehouse. Anything without a home location recorded stays where it is, and the line underneath says how many.
  • One place — everything goes to a single location you pick. This is the one for emptying a van into a receiving area and sorting it out later.
  • Leave — nothing is moved.

The line under the buttons says exactly what will happen, and to how many items, before you tap anything.

These moves do not send a location-change notification for every item — a returned case is one action, not twenty messages.

Recording where things went is the Location permission. Without it, check-in works normally and the choice is simply not offered.

Remarks

Remarks (optional) is for the state of the return: "returned with a cracked housing". It is kept with the checkout.

If something has come back broken, also report an issue or change its condition — a remark is a note, not a flag, and only a condition change stops the thing going out again.
